April 5, 2023 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Come early for food and drinks at the all new Mawita!
18+ show only due to adult content.
Doors 7pm; Show Starts 7:30pm

Join us for an evening of laughter with Christie Buchele and Sam Tallent as a fundraiser to help support Buchele’s, our expert comedy coach and comedian, travel expenses to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland.

After an extensive process to be accepted into the festival, Buchele is in the midst of taking her one-woman show to the festival in 2023 and 2024. Born with cerebral palsy, going to the festival in advance to scout which venues are accessible and comfortable for her to perform in is necessary. 100% of the net proceeds for this event will go directly to Buchele to fund her research trip to Edinburgh in August.

About Christie Buchele:

Buchele is an accomplished stand-up comic making a name for herself by sharing the heart-wrenching and hilariously raw realities of being a woman with a disability. She has been featured on Viceland’s “Flophouse: Hidden America with Jonah Ray,” “Laughs” on FOX and “First Look” on NBC. She has performed at the Limestone Comedy Festival and Denver’s own High Plains Comedy Festival, as well as starred in and wrote for the Project DU film “Scary Lucy” which has won multiple awards at film festivals around the country. As Director of Stand-Up at Rise Comedy Theater in Denver, she empowers young comics to hit the stage running and tell their stories with confidence.

About Sam Tallent:

Tallent (“the absurd voice of a surreal generation”- The Denver Post) is a comedian and novelist. For the past decade, he has performed more than 45 weekends per year in North America, Asia, Australia and Europe. His writing has appeared in Birdy Magazine, on Vice.com and he’s told jokes on Comedy Central, TruTV and Viceland. His acclaimed debut novel, “Running the Light,” has been heralded as the definitive book on stand-up comedy. It is soon to be a major motion picture. His novella “ATTABOY” was published as an Audible Original. Plus, “Waiting For Death to Claim Us,” his comedy special, is available on Amazon Prime. He lives in Colorado and cooks dinner for his wife every night.
